IF YOU DECIDE TO CHECK THE POLLS THE NEXT DAY:

The purpose of this project is to compare vote totals from a number of polling places and compare the results with published figures from the Registrar of Voter's Office.

By law, the poll workers at each polling place must post the vote totals from each Diebold voting machine outside the voting place. These vote totals are on long strips of paper (like cash register tapes) and are to be posted for 72 hours outside the polling place. They are generally tacked or taped to a wall, usually near the entrance.

There may be five to eight tapes posted tapes outside the polling place. These slips will hold the information needed to complete the election totals form.

We are specifically tracking the races for Governor, Secretary of State, and Congress.

1. Please write the vote totals for each candidate from every voting machine onto the Diebold Vote Totals Chart. Download the form here.

2. In addition to the total votes cast, please be sure to write down the precinct number and machine numbers from the tapes onto the Vote Totals Form.

3. If at all possible, please take pictures of all the tapes posted, one medium range picture showing the tapes hanging from the wall and a close-up of each tape showing the top of tapes which contains the precinct and machine identification numbers as well as the races we are covering.

Please email results to savervote@yahoo.com or mail to
